UCAPT Promotion, Tenure and Renewal

Once again sessions are scheduled to assist faculty, staff, heads, deans, PTR commitee and UCAPT members in preparing and understanding promotion, tenure and renewal application materials.


Two one-hour sessions related to contract renewal, tenure/permanence for faculty, librarian and ancillary academic staff will be held in September. 

For the faculty, librarian and ancillary academic staff sessions, you may choose to attend either session by using the online registration form   The sessions will be held as follows:

Tuesday, September 9, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. and end by 2:30 p.m. in Room 203, HEC (Toldo building)(Register);


Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. and end by 2:30 p.m. in Room 203, HEC (Toldo building)(Register);

Please note that the scheduled PTR sessions are identical and one needs only to attend one of these sessions.


A one-hour session for the assistants/secretaries will also be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2014.    At this session we will be introducing a new electronic referee process.

The sessions will cover a review of the PTR process from beginning to end, including the responsibilities of the PTR applicant, the Head, Dean and the PTR committee members.  Resource materials will be available at the meeting.  The updated resource materials are available on the website:

Updated versions of the UCAPT PTR documentation, PTR Resource Materials and committee membership will be available at the sessions.

The documentation required for promotion, tenure and renewal is organized similarly to last year; the process will remain the same and is governed by Senate Bylaws 22, 23A and 23B and Articles 5:31, 5:32, 12 and 13 of the WUFA/University Collective Agreement.
