“Pay Attention?”: Make the most of memory to enhance student learning

We teach so our students learn, and memory is key. How we teach and assess can leverage what is known about attention and memory. In this session, we will explore the role of memory and attention in learning and identify concrete strategies you can draw on to help improve students’ ability to retain, apply and critically evaluate information throughout their programs.

The ISW focuses on helping participants sharpen their teaching skills, develop coherent, engaging, and effective lesson plans, and use participant feedback to guide improvement.

The Centre for Teaching and Learning provides individual consultations, group workshops, and online self-paced courses about the use of the University’s learning management system, Blackboard Learn. Faculty, sessional instructors, staff, and GAs are welcome to register.
